What Kind of Flip Phone Do I Have?
In the market for a fitted case, but not quite sure what flip phone you’re holding? We’ve created the ultimate guide to finding your flip phone’s model number, so that you will be able to choose from our selection of fitted cases.
BlackBerry
Depending on your model of BlackBerry, there are a few different ways to retrieve your model number.
If you have a BlackBerry powered by Android:
- From the home screen choose App Drawer > Settings > About Phone, then look for “Model Number”.
BlackBerry 10:
- From the home screen choose Settings > About then look for “Model Number”.
BlackBerry OS versions 4.5 to 7.1:
- From the home screen choose Options (might be under Settings) > Device > About Device Versions, then the model number should be the first line of numbers.
Kyocera
From the home screen choose Settings > Phone Information then look for “Model Number”.
LG
From the home screen choose Settings > About Phone > Phone Identity, then look for “Model Number”.
Motorola
From the home screen choose Settings > About Phone, then look for “Model Number”. If once in Settings you do not see “About Phone”, then choose Phone Settings > Phone Information.
Every Nokia flip phone has a short code that you can use when you need to retrieve information about your phone. From the home screen, type *#0000#. Your Model Number will be listed either with “Nokia” before the number or with an “N” before the number.
If your phone make is not listed above or if you are having trouble finding your model number, do not fear. There are two additional ways to determine your phone’s model number.
1. Power On
Many flip phones display the model number when they first power on. You simply need to power off your phone, then power it back on, and watch for a start-up screen with your model number listed.
2. Under the Battery
Most flip phones also specify the model number underneath the phone’s battery. To find the model number, you should first power down your phone. Then, remove your flip phone’s back cover. Finally, lift the battery out of the phone. You will find a label that includes a list of letters and numbers. See below for an example of what model numbers appear as on the label under your battery for some phone makes.
BlackBerry: R, followed by a 4-digit number, Ex: R-5609
Nokia: Usually a 4-digit number standing a lone, Ex: 1786
LG: AX, VX, UX, followed by numbers, Ex: AX2918
Samsung: SCH, SPH, or SGH, followed by numbers, Ex: SCH-8729
What does this number mean?
Now you have your model number, but what should you do with it? A simple search engine search will reveal the exact model of your phone. We suggest that you go to Google and type in the make of your phone combined with your model number, for example LG AX2918. The search results should reveal the exact model of your phone.
